Hey there, I'm Emilie!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering virtual therapy services to clients in Ohio and Connecticut. I'd love to share some important identities to me: I identify as an Afro-Latina, first generation child of immigrants, bisexual, cisgendered female who has ADHD.
I've been lucky enough to be working in the therapy and non-profit worlds over the last 7 years, with a wide range of experiences from clinical settings, to community mental health, refugee services, adoption, and schools. I attended The Ohio State University to obtain my Master's in Social Work.
My therapy style primarily uses a Person Centered Therapy approach, with some CBT and Mindfulness tools sprinkled in as well. My approach is a very relational and conversational approach that is fluid, adapting to changes in your life as they come. It is so important to me that we build a caring and trusting relationship, because finding a therapist you can be yourself with is the most important! I believe that you are the ultimate expert in you, and having a space that is dedicated to you can help you feel your best.
I am passionate about providing mental health care that feels comfortable and accessible to everyone.
When I'm not working, you can find me traveling around the world as a digital nomad, or attempting to try to learn a new hobby or skill that I'm hyper-focused on: right now I'm trying to learn how to ride a motorcycle!
Please reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a consultation.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you more! 🙂
